The Music program is one of my responsibilities at the College.
Recently there has been a lot of rhetoric about the status of this program. Unfortunately most of it has been based on rumours and half truths. Let me set the record straight.
Like students, staff and supporters, the College wants a strong and vibrant Music program that delivers a quality education to our current and future students.
The continued success of our Music program rests on securing its long-term sustainability. The Music program – like every program in every Faculty at Mohawk – cannot borrow from the future to pay for today.
Mohawk is moving forward with a plan that will secure and strengthen the Music program’s long-term sustainability. An all-star line-up of talented faculty and instructors will continue to instruct and mentor aspiring musicians and all students will continue to receive the same number of hours of instruction.
At the same time we are well advanced on plans to give Music students better places and more spaces to study, practice and perform.
Music matters at Mohawk.
